(1 Corinthians 2:16)
There was a time when I took up a free online class through a program called Setting Captives Free. It was during that time when I was studying on the Cross and Christ Crucified, when I became aware of how significant Jesus Christ has played a role in our lives going all the way back to the book of Genesis. What is especially interesting is that the ENTIRE Old Testament foreshadows the events that will eventually be happening during Jesus' time on earth from birth to resurrection.
Everything about Jesus challenges us to not be conformed to this world. This especially includes ALL the humanistic philosophies that have crept into our churches today! How do we accomplish this? Here's another scripture verse for you:
And be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Romans 12:2)
Romans 12:2 not only encourages us, but challenges us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. My friends, OUR MINDS is a battlefield in which there is a war being waged for our souls. In order to be a soldier of Christ, we MUST have the willingness and resolve to not only have His mind, but to also make sure that our spiritual disciplines are TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY polished so we may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
So friends, do you have what it takes to "make the cut" in God's Army?
God is CONSTANTLY on the lookout in His search for soldiers that have a strong mental and spiritual edge to them. Even though it pays to have a strong and healthy physique, that is not a requirement in God's Army unlike the requirements that have to be met in our nation's armed forces. As you may be able to tell by the wording of this particular article, I'm passionate about not only our nation's military, but the military of all our democratic nations. Unfortunately, our military is subject to all kinds of corruption and scrutiny of the negative variety.
Not so in God's heavenly army! His righteousness and justice prevails over all matters spiritual, emotional, physical, and mental. With that said, I want to share one final verse with you to drive home the message of what it takes to be in God's Army.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. (Phil. 4:8)
Who's report will you believe? We shall believe the report of the Lord!
May God continue to bless you and keep you all in Jesus' mighty name! Jesus loves you and so do I!!!...:-)
